Geographically, the village of Saze belongs to Languedoc. Saze
is so near the Rhône that its history is necessarily connected
to that of Provence.
A hiking trail of 4.5 km, which lasts approximately two and a half hours, takes
you from the Rhône to the sand, from cultivated lands to the forest, from
pasture to garrigues, and it allows you to discover all types of landscapes.

The first traces of human occupation in this area are found
in a cave situated on the garrigues of la Baume, two kilometers from the
village. It was used as a single burial chamber, 15 meters long and 8 meters
wide. This cave dates back to the Bronze Age, but you must look to the first
centuries of our era to find definitive proof of a real and fixed population. |
