This village was known in 1314 under the Latin name of Codoleto, which became
Coudoulet or Codolet in 1627. In Provençal, a "coudoulet" is
a small stone or pebble.
The village has large, recently built facilities (a spacious town center, a park
for children, a multi-purpose hall, etc.) The renovation of the façades
and streets of the old village and the creation of green spaces are in perfect
harmony with the architecture of the new constructions.
A lake situated at the edge of the village offers you a fitness trail; you can
hike or ride bicycles around the dikes and through the vineyards.
Every year during the July 14 weekend, the town hosts a triathlon, which draws
increasingly large crowds from every part of France.

Wine-growing is highly important in this region; there is
a wine cooperative, as well as private wineries, which produce award-winning
Côtes du Rhône wines. There are several lively small businesses,
including a bakery, a tobacco shop, and five restaurants.
Codolet also offers accommodations for vacationers. |
